    Plaquenil for itching

My skin turns red, and it feels like something is biting me. It's bad around my ankles and the tops of my feet, my arms, and I get red blotches and spots on my chest.

I have been on plaquenil for about 3 weeks and I am starting to get a itchy rash. It's pretty mild so far starting on my forearms and now on my chest a little and the rest of my arms. Has anyone else had this problem? Will it go away? I am going to call my doc tomorrow but just wanted someone's. I've suffered from severe itching and it started years before I was diagnosed and treated with Plaquenil. To relieve the itching, I take Zyrtec or a generic equivalent. If I take Zyrtec regularly, and on time every 24 hrs, it controls the itching pretty well. Plaquenil and Itching - a study from real-world data. Summary Itching is found among people who take Plaquenil, especially for people who are female, 60+ old, have been taking the drug for 1 month, also take medication Enbrel, and have Pain.

I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this and what they did to help it! I was reading online and some people had mentioned that the name brand Plaquenil didn't cause such a severe reaction.
